What is the Redosa syringe
An overview of the project.
Plastic waste in healthcare has emerged as a pressing issue that demands our urgent focus.
In response, countries and institutions around the globe are taking bold steps by enacting robust policies to tackle the environmental impact of plastic waste.
Now is the perfect moment for innovative solutions that empower policymakers and healthcare providers to make a meaningful difference.
Domeject’s Redosa Syringe not only represents a significant advancement in reducing environmental harm but also introduces a revolutionary design that enhances usability and efficiency
- PLASTIC WASTE
Billions of disposable syringes are creating massive plastic waste - EMISSIONS
Healthcare accounts for 5 % ofglobal greenhouse gas emissions - COSTS
Reducing single-use plastic is generally expensive. - One Redosa syringe replaces up to 8 disposable syringes
- USABILITY
Reducing single-use plastic is generally expensive
The risk of air ingress when retracting the plunger during filling - Hospitals understand the importance of sustainability and are genuinely committed to reducing the use of single-use plastic products. We recognize the impact this has on our environment, and we strive to do so without increasing costs. Our goal is to create a healthier future for our communities and for generations to come.
Domeject with the Redosa Syringe effectively tackles these issues and introduces innovative design features that substantially enhance usability.
Only the Capsule with Needle is replaced
The Solution:
Improve usability and re-use the largest part (85%) of the Syringe
How to Use
- Capsule is mounted on the injector.Needle is attached
- The Redosa Syringe is filled (empty Capsule) or and with a pre-filled Capsule and used like existingsingle use products.
- Post use, the capsule is released and goes in thehazardous waste with the needle, or is separated from the needle and thrown in the plastic recycling box.
Redosa pre-filled
Capsule
Redosa empty Capsule
Two capsules (empty + prefilled) will replace eight different disposable syringes
